Who Would Have Guessed? (apologies for length)

Who would have guessed what this post was going to be about? The first few days of school of course.

I always find it funny how when you go back, it feels like you’ve never been away. There’s a few crud changes and few good ones, as well as fair number of new faces and a large number of familiar ones.

So I arrive on the Thursday morning at my usual early time of 7:40 to be greeted by… oh, nobody. I had to ask this random woman in one of the classrooms if she knew where I was supposed to go. The reason being because we had changed common rooms, meaning we had no lockers and didn’t really know where anything was. She didn’t know and eventually I located our Head of Year who was occupied with new arrivals. I thought it would be around 10 minutes, so I found a boarder and we sat outside on the benches a while. Gradually, each member of our year turned up and our 2 person gathering turned into a spiral of just about everyone, bar the head of year. It took until 8:30 before someone spoke to us. How organised it was. *sarcasm*

For any school officials out there, this post isn’t ‘dissing’ school, I’m just sharing the events of my day with my visitors, both fairly and honestly. Not brutally or in a excessively biased way.

It turns out that my timetable consists of 9 double periods/lessons a fortnight (2 weeks) in Spanish, French, English x2, Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Ethics/Religion. Then, a good change to school life, is that we have a ‘Free’ period, where we can study, do an extra activity or do the Duke Of Edinburgh preparation. (D of E is a survival/team-building type thing that involves volunteering, skills, walking and camping.)

I was going to do D of E, but with important exams and ‘controlled assessments’ all this year and next, I think I should turn my attention to studying and also to music. I have inquired into getting a time slot in the Music dep, despite the fact I’m not doing a Music course, so that I can spend one free period at least per 2 weeks practising guitar. But I don’t know whether that’s possible yet. I’m also thinking of doing Psychology (dealing with the human mind and stuff like that). So all in all, eventful and slightly productive first few days.

Now for the downer… Hockey. Basically, I lack effort or enthusiasm. The teachers are great and very motivated, but I just don’t have it. The only thing I can do is whack the ball really hard and I am so afraid that that’s going to land me in the B team at one point. That means I have to play matches against other schools on Saturday. And no sir-y, I do not want to. I think I have explained enough.

And as for friends, affairs, relationships, people and all that, you should refer to ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ for a little bit of what it’s like at the moment. Obviously they are younger, but it’s a similar principle.

More from me another time. But for now, how about some questions?
1) What is/was your favourite lesson/class?
2) If you could pick one more lesson to (have) take(n) at school, what would it be?

    Ah, school :/. Fraggida.
I went back to school two weeks ago, and I can agree that there’s some major suck-age. Of course, school makes for eventful blogs and such, but still…why?

Anyways. I think psychology would be an interesting thing to study, and possibly make into a profession. I mean, it’s something that’s always dealing with human’s, and their minds. I’d like being able to look at someone and tell a little bit about them from sitting in the coffee shop.

    Q: What is/was your favourite lesson/class?
A: At the moment, I don’t have one. Back when I was younger, I particularly favored art :3.
Q: If you could pick one more lesson to (have) take(n) at school, what would it be?
A: I would like to take art. 🙂 I mean, here’s the thing – I used to draw really well. But after a while, I stopped, and I’m losing my talent. I’m not even sure how to get it back. :/ So I’d like to take art :).
