The title says it all really. After not opening my emails for 2 weeks, I found myself routing through (yet again) around about 280 emails, all of which bar 2 were SPAM. In my head, I was singing a song with the words “Spam spam spam. Spam spam spam.” just to entertain myself in the job. Sometimes I think I could trade in my email address for 200 tins of plastic-tasting mash potato, but as of yet, I have not tried it.
And decline is a word I would use to describe my popularity on the internet. By popularity, I don’t mean dressing up my face with a birthday cake of make-up or ‘bitching’ about people behind their backs, but merely the number of people visiting my sites. On dailybooth, I have lost 3 followers in the past week. On flickr, I was delighted to find my first proper comment, then to log in the next day to find it deleted =( . Then, on twitter, I lost 1 follower and formspring, honestly, I have never received a human-submitted question as of yet. Finally, topping it all off, my website stats have gone down considerably even though it’s the summer and it should be peaking. That’s why I am now officially in a ‘DECLINE’. Therefore, there must be hard work done in the last 3 weeks of holiday to try and bring it back and rejuvenate things. Oh the Economy =| . Rant, over.
EDIT // And I know that popularity isn’t everything and that’s not the important point for me. I love, and hence love, the feedback and response I get from viewers, visitors, listeners, etc. And without them, it’s not as fun. Also, I have a project which I am hoping to get underway one day. Not explaining now, but it helps with visitors.// EDIT
Declining Vloggy Vloggy things and Declining Music guitary singy things. Now, I must make updates to the website to save it!
1) Hows life on the internet for you?
2) What’s your favourite resource (e.g tutorials, bgs, layouts, etc)?
Thanks for reading.
on the bright side, at least you have followers. I only have you (for which I am incredibly grateful, by the by). 🙂 I totally get it, you do most of the stuff for you, but often times you sorta like the statistics to be high. As for the nervousness about school, don’t worry. It’s natural to be apprehensive because of previous happenings, but in the end you can only do so much, right?
1) life’s normally boring on the internet for me…you know, I’ve never been all that popular in terms of stats, but I like it. 🙂
2) tutorials, I think. ’cause when you think about it, everyone pretty much has a website and they love to read about ways to improve it. Also, as I understand, you are a wordpress wiz. that makes for some great tutorials. 🙂
I don’t really care if people read my blogs 🙂 I do it for me, more then them. It’s a way to cope and express my self.
Although, I’m not getting as many visitors as usual. Makes sense though, because i’m not commenting on ppls blogs as much therefore, i’m not getting a comment reply for politness.
I like icons, funny ones 🙂
1. I never really cared if I was popular on the net (or IRL for that matter). I think it’s just a matter of having fun and enjoying yourself, unless all your fun stems from popularity, which I can’t help you with. One suggestion is to maybe visit other websites, leave comments, follow others, etc? You can’t really expect people to flock here if you don’t yourself out there and interact with others. 🙂
2. Favorite resource would have to be wallpapers. I find a lot of great ones on deviantART.
